Olá! My name is Andreia João, I am a Portuguese traditional singer, songwriter, producer, acoustic and electronic music lover.
This is my solo project with the support of ancestral and contemporary technology, invited musicians, human voice and Mother Nature. Inspired in ethnic rhythms and shamanic melodies. One of my major purpose is to revisit some of the Old Portuguese Songbook many references, the ancestral Portuguese oral tradition repertoire, lined within this new context.
While interpreter I sing Fado and songs related to my Iberian roots and my language. The Lusophony Cultures with ancient repertoires are my true home. I am also the singer performer Biotikka, for NOIDZ, a band merging Metal, Trance and Fado.
As a producer I found an intuitive process of music creation with several audio tools, where I try the most balanced fusion between electronics and acoustic environments.
Beyond Music Vol 2 - SAME PLANET
Uivo de Lamento
ft SinaUbi Zawose, Raushan Orazbayeva
A composition associated with natural disasters and cataclysms occurring on Earth. This is the cry of the shaman's soul. There is a moment in life when Man has the potential to recognize his truest personal power. A divine power, not material. The power to create instead of destroy. It's an almost unconscious decision, but it determines the course of a Life.. or many Lives. We can pray to the Universe, to the other Gods and to the Oceans, but the most powerful prayer is the one that manifests itself from us to us. Thank you Andreia and Tefo!
"I Need a Victory" is a powerful ode to resilience and autonomy. Merging international voices and talents, this song transcends borders to inspire social change. With words that call for personal and collective victory, it embodies hope and determination in the face of adversity, inviting everyone to conquer their mind and the world.
The Water cycle is the cycle of life itself, and there is not much time left to make up for the disastrous way we deviated and influenced it, as well as the cycle of life. Water should be treated as a sacred deity, being everyone's grace and right to have, but also a universal duty in preservation. Population growth, human conscience, lifestyle, development, and agricultural practices will tell if Water will be available in the future, as it still is today.
In this song we want to take away the distance between ‘them’ and ‘us’. Take away the distance created by borders, color and privilege. The ocean is but a mere puddle, the border is nothing more than a line. We believe that bombs can never blow up our dreams. Hate cannot keep us from loving. Forever we will love!
This Epic Rock Ballad in three languages – Urdu (Indian), English and Portuguese, explores deep and profound issues of Life and Humanity, that We are all One and the Same, in flesh & blood. In what can be described as powerful poetry and story-telling through music, this song takes the listeners on a transcendental journey, continuously reinforcing the social message that ‘We are One World, We are One Humanity’, and ultimately leading to a powerful crescendo, climax and realisation that ‘We must Set the Truth Free!
Peace is not a static phenomenon and often backtrack rather than evolves. Even in silence there are many ways to promote it, and a smile is often what is needed to break down any barriers of sadness that may fuel conflict. Smiling is an extraordinary way to open all the doors that insist on closing. This collaboration is a call to break cycles of sadness and isolation that undermine the evolution of our personal and collective Peace, and also encourages that no culture is isolated in shyness by the predominance of others that tend to globalize.
From time to time in life, things fall apart. But together, we are much better.
The voice and the Kyl are dancing with eachother: it’s a dialogue between the inner & the outer world, merging the human being with the universe. There is no lyrics. It is about pure sound… Raag Darbari Kanada/D matches best the Kazach folk musicsystem/K. Nevertheless of the same scale, these 2 musicsystems are conflicting: the minor 3rd & the minor 6th are high in K. & very low in D. etc. The ongoing electronic beat & the playing around consciously with these differences is merging the Kyl and the voice, harmonizing this conflict.
The first title for this project while the first sounds and pulses were emerging was Mantra. Trying to draw inspiration from the proposed theme "conflict", it was very naturally that it turned into a prayer. A prayer that proposes to be recited and reverberated in unison, in canon, in spoken word, here with reference to the great Uruguayan thinker, Eduardo Galeano, and in all the musical formulas that human nature reaches, so that it may illuminate the paths of all beings that depart their countries with nothing, fighting for their own survival. Patterns of war repeated for millennia. Homelands, Cultures, families, animals, gardens, houses, languages and everything else must be left apart, seeking refuge in the neighboring country, without having guaranteed an "open door". If we insist on keeping the path cut off, we will be accomplices not only to premature deaths, but also to our own. Deeply grateful dear companions Raushan, Juan and Giovanni, for such inspiration, trust and above all, for praying together with me.
"Planet says" is a reggae song with an ironic approach. The planet tells us that we better worry about us than her because, as humans, we're probably the ones who will pay the worst for our mistakes while she will keep on turning. She has been here so long-time before us, she will keep on bouncing on the different scenarios that will appear with the other planets and stars of the Universe. We are the little ones. It seems that our arrogance makes us feel even able to destroy nature while actually we're probably just able to destroy ourselves.
This is what may happen when our hearts find a direct channel with Planet Earth, we start to decipher what kind of vibration our Planet broadcasts. This song represents that channel. The attempt to forget that we are human, that we have borders that separate languages and cultures, so that we may be able to understand this mysterious telluric vibration that comes to us without pre-concept, without words, yet vibrating as a single Culture!
Life can be so busy that sometimes we forget to live in the now and to appreciate the beauty, and bounty of the diversity that surrounds us. Agora is a song that calls for us to appreciate the little things that make life in our ecosystem livable
Pachamama, from Quechua Pacha (universe), and Mama (Mother Earth) is the deity of indigenous people of the central Andes, related to the Earth, the mother. Like a goddess who has the gift of purification, in addition to the power of planting love in everyone's heart, it is considered the one who sows life in the world, contributing to a safer life on the Planet. This piece intends to remove all the filters that prevent us reaching the essence of each forest, plant and make clear how we merge into one while breathing together.
za bi long nnam which is sung in my language the YEZUM which is spoken in the center of Cameroon, In this song, I call for the solidarity of the peoples of the earth, the great beaters to see a new world, To fight the pandemics misery, I call on men to reconquer the universe in order to savor happiness and harmony
pink world is a song that calls on the inhabitants of the world to stop making weapons, bombs in short, everything that destroys our world and rather put this intelligence to build a better world. my dream being to see a big garden of pink flowers instead of war rubble. Let the great nations transform their war budget into a humanitarian budget so that this life will be A GREAT BEACH OF LOVE.
An improvisation with its own light and unique instrument. This piece became the MOMENTO – a Moment in my heart. The Moment. The Mountain. The Shepherd walking and making music. There it was my Portuguese root trying to recover this memory close to Nature. Today in Portugal, the "Chocalho" is considered Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, due to its tendency to extinguish itself and this important bond. There was a time when man knew, cared and thanked for each animal he ate at his family table. It was not so long ago, remember?
We breathe happily, unconsciously while we are alive and we often have this act as guaranteed gracefully. We soon understand that there is indeed something that is not seen but that has an immeasurable importance. They teach us to love trees because basically it is from them that a large part of our oxygen comes from. In this last breath I thank you with a chest full of gratitude, for this magnificent human respiratory system that was created here among colleagues, where ideas emerged as the very act of breathing! Naturally!
"Seeds of love" tells about the experiences Bhoomitra had with organic farmers. It expresses the work being done by an organic farmer, who works with love. The song also reflects on a journey of a seeker along his path. It is a fusion of classical Indian music with western. To give it a feel of a global collaboration we were working with Raushan, who brought a Kazakh traditional folk element. Ariel Bart added New York energy with her harmonica, Gaetan a soft delicate yet powerful double and Andreia Portugese adventure with her percussions.
This song is about hope. We surely have reason to think that this world is going to ruin. That there is no hope for us and for the next generations. But we must always remain positive. Each of us should do our part to make a difference. In this song, it's a mother (earth) talking to her children. she tells them everything will be fine. She tells them that there is no reason to be afraid because the good that we want for the world is within us. If we have the strength to go deep down, we can change the world, make it better
This music is born in Africa, it grows in Europe but it carries the global call that today sounds in the voices of children all over the world. Children claiming their own future manifest themselves publicly as adults, demanding of us a greater and deeper reflection on the impacts that each attitude today will have traces tomorrow for everyone. Children who postpone school because they understand that without water school does not make sense. Children who grow up to re-teach us to love and preserve Nature. Girls and boys full of hope.
"Tu meri sursari" is an expression of love for the River Ganga. She is a source of inspiration and love. We have all been touched by her magical energy. We all are aware of the dangers the Ganga and all rivers in the world. My teacher said you can hear all the notes of music sitting next to Ganga. In the Guru Granth Sahib the word "Sursari" is used for Ganga. Sursari means the Saree of Musical notes. The song explores a musician’s loving relationship with the river, the time spent listening to its flows and music and singing along with it.
Alpha, the mature son of his Mother Nature who was not Her first manifestation of Life, but the first to understand some of Mothers deepest mysteries. Universal Mother of all Life, who forgives everything to Her son, giving him everything he will need to live. Even a virus if so. Until the day when She herself needs Healing, for so many pains that She receives from this rational and intelligent son. Ours is the power to crystallize all Her beauty and health.
If we do what we've always done, we'll get what we've always gotten. It is time to put our thinking caps on to think again. It is time to make new choices encompassing every aspect of the planet and beyond.
Sadly Corona is traveling our planet and it can make us ill and even kill us. At the same time, while 'normal' life is paused the planet is regenerating, the sky and waters are cleaner than before. With this song we aim to warn against this virus as well as point out it is an opportunity to find new ways to reconnect with each other and the planet.
Sina Ubi composed this song expressing the concern for the new generations of Tanzania, who are increasingly lost in their inner path, becoming dependent on drugs. The lack of self-esteem and emotional health in such young generations has become a global scourge for a long time now. It is here that we move away from our roots and our life mission. There is an urgent need for a manifestation in favor of Life with self-love. A Manifesto sung with one voice that will restore healthy conscience to every human being. Our Mother Earth! A global call!
This collaboration is centered around the Earth from a Mothers perspective. "If Mother Earth could talk to us as her children, what would she say?" The following generations depend on our fight to live together with nature and each other, not divided.
It is time to let go of the last lament. And let it sound in unison, human and animal, from the top of the mountain, to the burned tropical forest, passing through all the plasticizing seas. Plasticized also proves to be the world economy driven by capitalism that does not reward equality in this so-called, Animal Kingdom. Plasticized is also humanity and all its extraordinary existence. It is time to redesign economic systems so that they really serve people and the planet. It was the Kyl Kobyz that ended up giving the title to the song.
Elly longed to create a song for the planet with just women. Now it sounds like a warm womb and the birth after. When we speak of earth we tend to say she is female, a mother. She nourishes and protects us, gives us air to breathe and healing herbs. She gave us everything, from the moment we crawled from the mud to our 'high' times in the high-rise buildings we live in now. Will it ever be enough?
Much of our decisions, end up being more honest when generated in the heart. Still, many decisions turn out to be too much analyzed by the mind and mirrored in external objects, and it is here that we often commit the greatest crimes against ourselves and everything around us. This is the time to make vital decisions for the conservation of our Planet, and consequently all of the species. It is necessary to heal the mind, silencing it and spending more time with the heart. Precisely in its depths, we will always find an answer.
Andrea: "Each new day is an opportunity to awaken our true essence as human beings and to understand that we all have the same Mother, Mother Earth. It is time to listen to her sacred voice and identify it with our inner voice as a child, realizing that we both carry the same glories and pains, like mother and child. We may still have some time left, but we must listen first. Escuta a Mãe Terra!" Sasha: I was falling in love with her meditative way of singing, I proposed a music track that could reflect these qualities in our collaboration.
