Acoustic, electric and slide guitarist in Blues, folk and traditional/ethnic/world music styles. I was raised in an environment where music was all around me....my father was a musician and my mother a piano teacher, and our house was always full of people singing folk music and playing guitars. My siblings are all musicians and the next generation is also full of music and musicians. I have been involved in composing, performing, recording and producing music my whole adult life, music is a huge part of who I am. I am a founder member of Rootspring Music which is dedicated to supporting musicians....the beauty, creativity and excellence in music. My roots are in Folk, Blues and African styles of music, but for me, music is as much about connection between people as it is about sound and rhythm. Music - sound vibration... is truly the food of life.

I put this poem to music that I discovered on the internet. It is supposedly written by a Maori poet over 150 years ago. It really resonated with me - I believe the route of all conflict lies within us all. This poem talks about how we create our own future and that we are both our own Devil and our own God - but the universe by it's very nature rebuilds what is destroyed. Therefore it is a song of hope. I am thrilled with the contributions from such wonderful musicians I discovered on Beyond Music. Thanks for the opportunity!
Iyavela is a Xhosa translation, meaning 'recurring' or 'it appears'. The theme came to me during a walk in the Table Mountain National Park, as a reminder of how the only reason any of the quality of life we experience as humans, during our short-lived lives on earth, is because of the abundant perfection of our natural environment. How essential, and fundamentally worth protecting this is.
« Dafa wara nooyi» means « it gotta breathe » in wolof language from my country Senegal. It paints the human being against the yellings of the planet. How can we be deaf and dumb not being aware of the crying of our planet. That we should better listen and act to repare before it is too late. I chosed three other artists from different backgrounds so they express them selves and tell by their ways how we should behave and open our eyes. Change will come from us then we can make it if we want it. And more,we gotta change orelse we all gonna die.
