About me

Göteborg, Sweden

I'm a flute player living between Sweden and Czech Republic. My passion is flexibility and improvisation. I work with many genres including Swedish folk music, Bulgarian folk music, balfolk, jazz, Brazilian music, oriental music...although from the start I'm classically trained. I compose mellow meditative music for my quartet called Peacock Tree (fl, tp, sax, db) and for my solo looping project Žofiiny Miniatury. Looking forward to getting in touch!
I also play some bass clarinet and electric bass!

Project Music

Going to the Mountains is Going Home

With instrumentation and vocals that evoke the serenity of being in the wilderness, this song is a call to reconnect with nature. The title is taken from a quote by John Muir (19th century American environmental activist, known as the father of National Parks), who inspired many to value the wild places that still exist. Muir believed that regaining a harmonious equilibrium with Mother Earth is integral to our mental and physical health. As the climate crisis worsens, and cities grow more and more crowded, let's go back home to the wild!

'Chand Ke Phool’, a unique Indian/Andean cumbia song, takes inspiration from the giant-impact hypothesis, which suggests the Earth and Moon were once one planet that was broken in two by a collision with another planet. This is a metaphor for how Pakistan and India were hit by a great conspiracy, and divided on the basis of religion. A similar story exists with Romania, Moldova, Ireland, Yugoslavia... At the core of any conflict, there is a void which, if filled with love, caring and sharing, can bring peace and prosperity.
