Angeles Mendoza

About me

La Plata, Argentina

I am Angeles Mendoza. Singer and guitarist born in the city of Saladillo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. I play Argentine folk music.
I started my musical life when I was 5 years old, with my grandfather. At the age of 20 I moved to the city of La Plata where I obtained my degrees as a music teacher and a degree in popular music, at the Faculty of Arts.
I recorded 2 studio albums, "Sonora Raíz" and "Senderos", available in all digital platforms.
I have shared the stage with great artists of my country, such as "Dúo Coplanacu", Mariana Baraj, Peteco Carabajal, Bruno Arias, and more.
I am currently working as a teacher, singer and guitarist, spreading the Argentine folk songbook. However, I am open to collaborate with any artistic proposal of this movement. Thank you, and I hope we can create music together!

I Don't Feel Well

Social and psychological alienation, compounded by feelings of loneliness and isolation, emerge as profound consequences of war-induced separation and societal upheaval. Families torn apart, groups fragmented, and the dissonance between past bonds and present individualism all fuel the transformative currents reshaping societies amidst conflict and displacement. We may not feel well, but through collaborative music, we might be able to share our stories, ease our burden, alleviate the feeling of estrangement, and thrive as cohesive communities.

¿Qué puede hacer mi corazón?

What can my heart do? is a song that invites us to ask ourselves, to look around us, to look at the natural disasters, the inequalities, the oppression, the war, the children. It is a call to rethink our message, to reflect. As musicians, to sing that message. It was composed by the Argentine Angeles Mendoza, as a copla of her folklore, in Spanish language. Australian singer Floyd Thursby is called upon to take the message to the world.
