Diana Ezerex

About me

Karlsruhe, Germany

Born and raised in southern Germany, Diana Ezerex began singing and playing instruments at the age of 3. At the age of 9 she had written her first song for her church.

While studying educational science (followed by cultural mediation studies in 2023) opportunities opened up for her to perform, touring solo in 2016 and 2017 and putting together a band. During the pandemic she started working on new songs, trying to find her sound, hoping to inspire societal change. While her debut album deals with topics that are linked to incarceration (she started playing concerts in prisons in 2017), her latest releases deal with her identity.

Diana’s distinctive voice and style of songwriting have earned her widespread plaudits as an artist opening for Kat Frankie, Cory Wong, Fantastische Vier, (((0))) and performing at Das FEST Karlsruhe in 2023. Credits in Rolling Stone Germany, ZEIT, ZDF and other print and online media underline her success in approaching social issues with pop music.

Takes a Stone To Break Another

Diana wrote and produced this song in a village in Switzerland. During a conversation about an arts project with a person who had to flee Afghanistan he said "it takes a stone to break another" which she turned into this song, to talk about prejudice and the inability of many to think beyond their own boundaries. The song should challeng listeners to consider their preconceived notions and try to emphasize the need to show compassion and understanding towards others. She had talented instrumentalist join her to emphasize the message.
