I am a singer song writer, I write both in Hebrew and in English.
I am also doing musical theatre.
I love singing and really enjoy the different things that each genre brings out of me, whether its my original songs or musical theatre which brings something completely different out of me. I truly enjoy writing and composing, and discovering the music that the words hold within, and the words that the music holds within, whether written by me or somebody else.
I find that collaborating with different artists enriches me and brings more out of me.
During an hour and a half online session we gave free rein to our creativity for a second song. Anat Porat and Pobee started writing along these lines of thought. Anat came up with the words Pass It On. She made the connection with the subject of social change through the human gesture of giving and sharing. By giving we also receive. Pobee made the connection with life in his spoken word. The most important gift we all have. Use that breath of life, because it is the only and at the same time everything we need to be who we want to be.
Our composition has developed the theme of Beyond Music, Social Change, in a unique, artistic and modern way. Judging by the conflicts in the world, the division between people now seems greater than ever. Art is an excellent means of bringing people together, seeking dialogue, and learning from each other. Art can only be fully experienced by looking at the world with open eyes and ears as children do - uninhibited and fearless! To achieve that for everyone, P.E.A.C.E (One more Chance). Because People Everywhere Are Created Equally!
In movies, novels and news, War, for lack of a better word is "exciting" if not romanticized. We tend to forget that real bones are broken, real people die, several families are separated, people become refugees, and several people's lives are scarred forever including innocent children Dyllann is an internally displaced person due to the war in Cameroon and as we wrote the song, the conflict between Israel (Anat's Country) and Palestine had just escalated. From time to time in life, things fall apart. But together, we are much better.
pink world is a song that calls on the inhabitants of the world to stop making weapons, bombs in short, everything that destroys our world and rather put this intelligence to build a better world. my dream being to see a big garden of pink flowers instead of war rubble. Let the great nations transform their war budget into a humanitarian budget so that this life will be A GREAT BEACH OF LOVE.
Very often, the human race marveled by its own intellect and strength tends to forget that we are one with the planet; and that we need diversity even for our own survival. Rise Again is a song of hope. it doesn't condemn but acknowledges that mankind has been wrong a lot of times in the past and that there is the opportunity to rise again as one with the planet.
We are living in a unique time that reminds us just how much humanity is depended upon the nature of our planet. We are experiencing a very strange time with a world pandemic, which changed everything for us humans, it turned everything we knew upside down. However nature seams stronger than ever. This song came to me one morning while I was looking through my window at the amazing power of nature's awakening from winter to spring. The colors and sweet sent of blossoming flowers, the buzzing sounds of bees, birds singing and flying about.
"Minyôn ya sí" means "tears of the Earth" in Ewondo language from Cameroon. The song is about the planet asking human being why it is destroyed day after day and crying for protection, for good care.
Anat: This collaboration started from Sasha's beautiful and very expressive music. When I heard it, the main feeling that came up is - repent. We take so many things for granted in our lives, our health, freedom, wellbeing, and sometimes, only when it's taken away we realize that. Our planet is not solely ours, and it seams we have forgotten that we are only guests here, and we cannot use and abuse it without care. I'm hopeful that men & womenkind, will wake up, and start listening to what our planet is trying to tell us.
Meadow, Is a love letter to nature from humanity; The song expresses how we enjoy the benefits of nature, but also our regrets as our actions turn to endanger nature. The song is dedicated to all the animals and nature that have gone extinct because of human action. The song expresses our need and appreciation for biodiversity and says its time for us to look at the universe as a meadow for all biodiversity
Climate Change is an international concern, but the truth is that each community experiences it differently. Tropical regions that depend on agriculture, are having inconsistent rain and dry seasons which lead to low yields and on the other side of the globe ice is melting. All changes are frightening especially to local communities that don't have enough power. La Yo Yavsin Koy is an original African folk style fusion which calls for leaders and for humanity at large to not fold our arms towards the issues brought about by global warming.
Sasha: New times - new adjusted directions. In light of recent events we came up with the idea to cheer up and propose a spiritual alternative to fear - JOY! Anat: For me, music has always been a cure. Whenever I’m in the presence of music, my spirit is uplifting. The ability to give this gift to others, is a total blessing. Sakhile: This is a positivity song that is meant to keep people in good spirit during all the depressing situations that the world faces every day, music is one medicine that hits and you feel no pain (Bob Marley).
Humanity has always aspired to be better, to go faster, further. It seems like we may have gone too far, too high, too much. We had lost the delicate balance with nature, which is all around us, screaming “wake up, before it’s too late!” Nature mirrors our internal nature, with extreme phenomenons such as endless fires, floods, extreme weather, deadly viruses. Water is magical, and it has everything in it. It's the source of life, but can also be a cause for death. It’s beautiful and mysterious, and for me has always been a magical force.
This is an audio "portrait" of the first appearance of Love. I’ve had a melody, that I recorded as a sample and sent it to Anat asking to listen to it and if she had an idea for words. Then I thought that it will be nice to have an instrument that is not expected in this musical environment. I started research and came across Kamancheh player Hassan Khodayinia. I asked him if he wants to participate, and he generously agreed. A week later I had several optional tracks from him. Interesting how passion can be expressed in so many ways.
I wrote this very personal song, in the intimacy of my room, and it was quite an experience to work on it together with Sasha who gave it his own footprint, from both sides of the world...
A collaborative work with amazing israely singer Anat Porat. Took some time, as a piece is very uncommon melody-wise , but the result is (in my opinion) astonishing. Loved every moment of working on it together...
A song... beautiful song... done by fantastic singer.
